Do these rock sliders require drilling or welding to install?
No welding — but a little drilling. The Tacoma sliders require drilling two holes per side; everything else bolts to the frame with the included Grade 10.9 steel hardware. A typical installation still takes an afternoon with hand tools, a drill, and a jack.
Which Tacoma models do these sliders fit?
They fit 2005–2015 (2nd Gen) and 2016–2023 (3rd Gen) Toyota Tacomas, in both Access Cab and Double Cab configurations.
Are these strong enough to use as actual rock sliders, not just steps?
Yes. They're built from .120" wall DOM tubing with .188" gusseted frame mounting plates — designed to take direct impacts and support the weight of the truck on rocks. The step function is secondary; frame protection is the job.
Do the sliders come as a pair?
Yes. The price covers both the driver-side and passenger-side sliders, with all mounting hardware included. Each slider weighs about 65 lbs with step plates fitted.
Can I customize the look of the step plates?
Yes. The step plates are removable, so you can paint them, wrap them, or run a contrasting color to match your build, then bolt them back on.
How do the sliders resist rust and corrosion?
Every set gets a dual-layer finish: an e-coat base layer that seals the steel, topped with powder coat. That combination resists rock rash, road salt, mud, and weathering far better than paint alone.
